Our History

Eyesoneurope.eu is the website of Eyes on Europe, the only biannual student publication with a fresh and independent view of the EU offering its readership and members a complete and stimulating package. Eyes on Europe’s mission is to promote intellectual exchanges, pluralism and progress in the European Union and the magazine has become important complementary reading for the EU political affairs communities - Europe’s most important decision-makers.

Having established various lasting transnational partnerships with other universities, associations, official institutions as well as private enterprises, we aim to punch above our weight in bringing Europe closer to its citizens through a broad and extensive circulation of our magazine. Not confined to narrowly-defined elites in Brussels, Eyes on Europe reflects an appeal to a broad audience in Belgium, the undeniable gateway to Europe, and beyond.

Published at The Institute for European Studies since 2004, Eyes on Europe is a high-quality trilingual read and staunchly independent in its thematic choices and opinions. As a unit, it is not - and never will be - tied in any way to a specific interest, member state, party or point of view.

Our Coverage

Both through its biannual publication and its regularly updated website, Eyes on Europe brings varied, authoritative and balanced coverage of the pressing issues of our time. It offers a detailed account of the key arguments surrounding the European Union institutions and the political affairs community beyond.

Featuring articles in English, French and German, Eyes on Europe writes with style, wit, force and flair. It strives to communicate incisive analysis with clarity and insight.

Subscriptions

Eyes on Europe is available by subscription and at selected libraries in Brussels, Berlin and Geneva, looking to expand its distribution in the near future.

Our Team

Eyes on Europe is committed to shaping the world of tomorrow. Bringing together people from all over Europe and beyond, its main offices are located in Brussels at the Institute for European Studies, ULB. At the Institute, professors, Masters and Ph.D. students, alumni and researchers engage in a rich and dynamic dialogue which fosters the magazine’s conception and the association’s daily management. Our consistent drive toward enhancing openness and innovation has led us to feature contributions from a wide range of disciplines and authors beyond the halls of the Institute: students from other universities, members of international research centres (i.e.: CEFRES, CEVIPOL, Bruegel, etc.) foreign Ph.D. students and EU publics and officials working within the EU’s institutional framework. We take pride in our extended team of contributors and we draw on its many talents to put together a fresh and multi-faceted take on European dynamics and events.
